Thailand Missions Trip 2009
This was a huge success. In September / October of 2009, 12 students, 1 parent and 4 staff went forth and it was life changing on a number of fronts. Many grew as they experienced another culture and trusted God to use them.
First we went to Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima), where we worked with locak missionaries. We taught English to underprivileged Primary School children. Then we spent 4 days at Tetsabarn 5 governement school in Loei. We ran an English program, played sport and did our dramas. We were billeted out with families from the school. After this, we went to Seeds of Love, Khon Kaen, where we helped with the leper feeding program and at the orphanage. Finally, some students flew to Burma, where we visited the Jewels Future slum school (ran a craft program) and children's' home our school is supporting. The rest had R & R in Bangkok.
We tried to live the gospel by our actions and through our drams around 1000 people heard about Christ. We get to know each other and appreciate each other more ...and we had so much fun!!!!
The overall attitued of the students and the way the adults served the team was great. I have no doubt that the trip and future trips can only bring blessings to our school and to those we reach out to.
Many of us are hooked and want to do this again in 2010.
